
Janix Asare (extreme right), the President of Just Commit Foundation raised an amount of ₵100,000 (about $ 20,000) from the MTN Foundation to support the Research Utilization School for the Deaf.
This was done through social media campaign, networking, community engagement and mass media discussion (Television and Radio) on the importance of avoiding stigmatization and supporting the education of the hearing-impaired children and nomination of Genevieve Basigha, the founder and Headmistress of the Research Utilization School for the Deaf (RUSFORD) for the MTN Heroes of Change Season 3. Mrs. Basigha emerged as the overall winner during the Grand Finale on 19th May, 2017.
RUSFORD plans to use the funds to build a new classroom facility, start a school farm and to support the sustainability of the school.
